North Sumatera Earthquake 2017

I spent my childhood in a country where the eruption of Krakatoa happened. If you're wondering what's Krakatoa, go on and click  here Well now I have to admit that i was a little brat who longed for earthquake during school time so everyone can go home. I can't remember precisely but the earthquake that got me in awe was the Nias Tsunami. TVs and Newspapers talked about it, even the TV Crew cried in front of the camera. I had new friends from Nias who survived and moved to my school. I was still too young back then to realize how an earthquake can cause pain and sadness in someone. Brainless it is wtf. Till today, I was enjoying a bowl of Indomie and quality time with my friends in a karaoke bar. All of sudden, we saw everyone running away from the aisle, I was insensitive again, wtf sorry, but one of my friends who sat nearby the aisle door shouted "COMEON! EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!!!!" I panicked too so four of us made our way to the front. The tremors were real like ...

Danau Toba, Parapat

18-21 November 2013 Dad got some work to do around Parapat, so mama and I tagged along. From Medan, it takes around 4 hrs drive back then. Not sure about now, maybe after three years, some changes are made? What's famous about this Lake is it is the largest lake in Southest Asia and were made from eruption and the cone of the volcano collapsed and made the Samosir Island, which is just on the centre of Danau Toba. To reach Samosir Island, you must ride on a ferry. I went there once or twice for school excursion.   I was so obsessed with my ring back then.   Even three years ago, i couldn't open my eyes for the sunshine. lol. Fifteen minutes drive from parapat, we visited the detention house of the very first president of Indonesia, Soekarno. Due to political reasons back then, he had to move here for awhile. If i am not mistaken, it should be around 1946-1948, just a few years after Indonesia proclaimed INDEPENDENcy and were still fighting fo...

Iboih Snorkelling, Sabang.

I don't know how things really work but this is how my snorkelling went.  I told the driver that i wanted to snorkel. I'm pretty sure there's only one spot (IBOIH) to snorkel from if you don't stay at the hotel with their own services.  Arriving at Iboih doesn't mean that you can immediately snorkel. You have to find a shop with snorkelling or diving services and choose according to your needs. They sell many kinds of boats, equipment, and services. As for me, we rented a boat with underwater view as my mom didn't wanna snorkel but she wanna have a sight of the fishes too. I forced my dad to snorkel with me so there he was. Our guide told us that we will be travelling to four different locations. First one will be a shallow beach with lots of fishes and for my dad who never snorkel before, will get his essential lessons. And a place to wash your googles too. I didn't buy. I rented them. Gross i know but it's way cheaper and i just don't wa...

Update from Medan

Hehehehehehe. It's me, updating from Medan. I just feel that i need to blog everything out so that i can look back whenever i miss..... Not sure this is Chinese or Buddhist tradition, or both. But this is how you pay tribute to the ones with the name written down there, as i assume, going to their grave is too far away and, every che-it and cap-goh (which is like the first day and the 15th day of Chinese calendar) they believe that the spirit will come back, so it is essential to serve some tea or cakes.  Words are not enough to describe how i missed my grandpa. The home just feels different without him.. missed the way he call my name.  As a good grandchildren, i did pay tribute as how i was asked to. Not telling you whether i believe in their culture or not but i just appreciate how they get their things done.    Still on with my Hotel Santika slippers. Lol. Mom gonna scold me when she finds out. Can you tell if he's already asleep or trying his b...
